Agility in Queensland?
Competitors
of Agility in Queensland have two options for competing in agility.
As for most of Australia, Queensland has ANKC agility, with the
limitation that only registered pure-bred dogs may compete. The
other option, which permits all breeds is ADAA. Agility
Dog Association of Australia (ADAA) commenced with the aim
of increasing the popularity of the sport of agility throughout
Australia. This association places a somewhat different emphasis
on the course designs and rules to the more widespread ANKC. One
most noticeable difference is that dogs only compete against dogs
their own height. The courses also tend to be closer to the UK
and US style of agility than that of the ANKC. For more info see
this AgilityNet
article highlighting the differences. ADAA are also involved
in the international
agility link where dogs from 17 countries around the world
compete on their home turf over the exact same courses with the
same equipment specifications and then compare course times to
determine an international winner. Interested? Why not take a
look?!
