Fraser Coast - ADAA October 2000 The tale as narrated by Missy... A truly fantastic weekend. Relaxing for Mum and Dad and yet lots of fun for us dogs. Dad towed the boat up so that he could go out on the Bay and go fishing, Mum took a book and a towel so that she could lie in the shade and read, and we took our running legs to blitz those courses. Saturday night was great- a huge storm broke after only a couple of courses, lots of thunder and lightening- lucky the tent is waterproof. I ran clear in open agility with a couple of seconds to spare on a great course with some subtle challenges built in by judge Wayne Stutz. It had a nice fast outer circle of jumps that really ran nicely, then some quick turns on the inside that kept Mum hopping. Billy ran clear in Novice jumping also. Two quali cards- one for me and one for Bill, a great night's work. Sunday morning dawned overcast and cool- very different to the 30oC heat that kick started the storm the day before. This was Billy weather, cool for quick runs. And that he did with two qualis, one in novice agility under Cathy Slot and one in novice jumpers under Steve Drinkwater. Just as well, because I really didn't feel like concentrating today, I just wanted to have fun, which I did. Cathy Slot set a really tough open agililty course- well not really tough, just tough for me cause when there is a tunnel and a contact to choose from I'll always choose the tunnel. I think Mum tried that sequence about five times before I relented and "walked on" the dogwalk. I think she was heard to mutter, "we'll work on that over Xmas". It was also a really good weekend for our friend Bella- she earned her MAAD title- way to go!!! There are a few photos from Sunday morning, don't forget to check out the fish Dad caught too. Mum's also put in the layout of the Open course I had so many problems with.... just so we don't forget. |
