New Handler's Trial Rules
for Non-papered Dogs
CCCQ Council has approved that Club Handler Competitions be extended
from 1 March 2001. From that date Club Handler Competitions may be held
as described below:
Obedience Clubs may conduct Club Handler Competitions for either Obedience
or Agility dogs not registered with the CCCQ provided that the following
conditions are met:
- Competitors must be a member of an Affiliated Obedience or Agility
Club in QLD
- Club Handler Competitions may be conducted on the same day as a gazetted
Trial or Sweepstakes provided that different rings are used. Competitions
are to start 30 minutes after the official Trial ends (including presentation
of trophies) or 30 minutes before the official Trial starts.
- Dogs which are registered on CCC Registers (or their general or Limited
Register of any Controlling Body) are not to be entered in Handler Competitions
with dogs which are not registered in any CCC Register.
- The CCC is to be notified not less than four weeks prior to the conduct
of any Handler Competition
- Handler competitions may be judged by: Judges shown on the Obedience
Sweepstakes Judges Panel, or a Club Member not on the Judges list but
of suitable experience and knowledge, who has been a financial member
of the club for not less than 12 months.
- Licensed Judges are required to notify the office of any appointments
- Awards/Certificates granted in the Competition are to be signed by
the club Secretary only, not the Judge
- Clubs may advertise such Competitions between Clubs but no advertising
in the QLD Dog World magazine will be accepted
- Clubs are reminded that normal public liability insurance cover is
extended to include all approved activities, but that claimants under
that policy must provide proof of negligence on the part of the club
and/or its office bearers
